At Yeshi Lhendup Films, our mission is to bring a refreshing change to Bhutan’s visual and musical landscape. We are committed to enhancing the quality of visual storytelling by producing cinematic, emotionally engaging content that resonates deeply with audiences. A key part of our mission is to connect artists with their rightful audiences, ensuring that talents, especially those who are often overlooked, find their space to shine. Moreover, we are dedicated to promoting Bhutan and its vibrant culture across Bhutan and around the world. Through every project whether a music video, documentary, or short film, we strive to showcase the beauty, values, traditions, and modern creativity of Bhutan. By sharing authentic stories with high quality visuals, we aim to build cultural pride within the nation and create meaningful cultural connections globally.
At the heart of our approach is a belief in passion, accessibility, and excellence. We are driven by the philosophy that financial limitations should never hinder creativity. That is why we love to work with emerging and financially unstable artists, offering our services free of cost or at highly affordable rates whenever possible. We seek to empower artists who have the passion and vision but may lack the means to bring their ideas to life. Regardless of the project's size or budget, we are committed to delivering the highest level of quality. Every project, big or small, is treated with the same level of dedication, professionalism, and creativity. From concept development to final production, we pay close attention to detail to ensure that the final output is not only visually stunning but also emotionally impactful. We believe that quality work speaks for itself, and our commitment to excellence is reflected in everything we create. Our work environment values collaboration, respect, and mutual growth. We build strong relationships with our artists and clients, working closely to realize shared creative visions.
Since 2017, Yeshi Lhendup Films has gained extensive experience across a wide range of creative productions. Our portfolio includes promotional advertisements, commercial videos, wedding films, music videos, short trailers, and documentaries. Each project has allowed us to grow, refine our skills, and push the creative boundaries of Bhutanese media production.
Today, we specialize in high-quality music videos that are recognized for their cinematic storytelling, emotional depth, and cultural authenticity. Our team has worked with a wide range of artists and clients, creating content that not only entertains but also inspires and preserves the stories of Bhutan.
Looking ahead, we are excited to take the next step in our journey by venturing into feature film production. This new chapter will allow us to expand our storytelling on a larger scale, sharing Bhutanese narratives with broader audiences both at home and internationally.
At Yeshi Lhendup Films, we are not just creating content; we are building a legacy of creativity, culture, and connection — one story at a time.
Born on June 13, 1992, Yeshi Lhendup is the visionary behind Yeshi Lhendup Films, Bhutan’s leading creative studio and YouTube channel. Known for his cinematic storytelling and emotional depth, Yeshi plays multiple roles in his productions as a director, cinematographer, and editor with an eye for detail and a heart for stories that matter. He is the son of Late Sonam Wangdi, a proud member of the Royal Bhutan Army from Yadi, Mongar, and Namgyal, his mother from Jamkhar, Trashiyangtse. Growing up as one of six siblings, Yeshi was raised with values of humility, discipline, and cultural pride, qualities that continue to define his work and leadership today. Yeshi’s educational journey took him across Bhutan: he attended Lodari Primary School in Gelephu, Lungtenphu Primary School in Thimphu, Tencholing Primary School, and Wangdue Lower Secondary School, before completing his middle and high school at Bajothang HSS in Wangdue. He later graduated from Sherubtse College in Trashigang with a degree in Environmental Science and Economics. His passion for filmmaking began during his college days and grew into a calling. While most pursued conventional careers, Yeshi chose a different path. With no formal training in film, he began by renting equipment from hiring agents and offering free video services to artists, believing in collaboration and community growth over personal gain.
In 2019, with the help of government support and personal loans, Yeshi purchased his own equipment and launched Yeshi Lhendup Films as a full-time venture. Since then, he has produced over 140 music videos, along with numerous documentaries, short films, and commercial works.
Yeshi’s vision has always been clear, to revolutionize the Bhutanese music video industry by making high-quality production accessible to all. His commitment to providing free or affordable services to artists has empowered countless talents and shaped a more dynamic, inclusive creative community in Bhutan. More than a filmmaker, Yeshi Lhendup is a storyteller with purpose, a believer in the power of visuals to inspire, uplift, and connect.
